Not For the Season / Laminated Cat

Another Open D beauty. Chords and riff are deceptively simple. Tough part is getting the 'feel' of the song.

 

For the 'D' Chord, I play it severly muted (although there really is no chord here, just Glen keeping time).

But for us Living Room Players, this is not an option. So, I like to lay my index across the nut

for this, then slide rock-star style into the G & A chords. Same trick as 'Pot Kettle Black' and 'Cant Stand It'

I've been messing around with this tune too -- the ST version is sublime. I'd love to hear any thoughts folks have on the improvised outro. As an open D newbie, I have been messing around and watching what Jeff does. Little I do sounds bad when I improvise the outro, but little I do sounds great too ...
