god i can't believe that they can't think of something more creative than a self titled album. i hate it when bands do this crap. especially when they are many albums into a career. it seems so lazy.

on another note, i can't wait to hear the music! excited!

I've been thinking about this all day today... what does self-titled actually or usually mean? Does it mean the album will just be called "Wilco"or could there be something else attached to it? To me, it just doesn't seem right to simply call it "Wilco." Just seems odd- Wilco: Wilco...:dontgetit

If the album is called anything other than Wilco, then it is not self-titled.

Well, I just meant would there be anything else added before or after 'Wilco', such as Wilco Happens, Wilco The Album etc. Those still have 'Wilco' in the title and it's not simply 'Wilco.' Know what I mean? :blush

Yes, but in those cases, it is not a self-titled album. Self-titled means the name of the band is the name of the album, not that the name of the band is in the name of the album.

I dreamt the album title last night - now I can't remember it. Jeff told it to me in a dream. He should have told someone with a better memory - LoL

He did, me, Wilco The Album

This was posted on Wilcoworld. The last bit makes me think (hope) it will be leaking soon:

Greetings all,

Wilco wrap up their first tour of '09 in New Orleans on Saturday night and, man, it's good to have the band up on stage again. But it's just the beginning. Most of Wilco's summer schedule is up on the site now and tickets go on sale tomorrow (Friday) for the following gigs: Cincinnati Aronoff Center, Las Vegas The Joint, LA Wiltern (x2), Morrison CO Red Rocks, Vienna VA Wolftrap, Wilmington DE Frawley Stadium, Brooklyn NY Keyspan Park, and Buffalo NY Art Park. Go to http://wilcoworld.net/tours/ for more information.

Already onsale: Oklahoma City Brickyard, El Paso Chavez Theatre, Tucson Centennial Hall, Berkeley Greek, Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena, Jacksonville OR Britt Pavilion, Lowell MA Lelacheur Park, and Wappingers Falls NY Dutchess County Stadium.

Special note: Wolftrap, Wilmington, Lowell, Portland, Wappingers Falls and Buffalo feature support from Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band.

Before summer, we've got Spain and Portugal to look forward to, kicking off May 23 in Tenerife. Some of those shows are already sold out... but there are tickets available in many others. Info at http://wilcoworld.net/tours/

Lastly, thanks for making the Ashes of American Flags DVD #1 on the Billboard Music DVD chart (by a long shot). Nice work. The new studio record is still slated for June 30. Can't wait for you to hear it (and we're pretty sure it'll be before then).

more news soon, as it develops.

I had a fantasy. It happened halfway between being awake and not-awake in my bed, and I was very drunk. The name of the new LP was Dark Neon, and the narrative of the album partially reflected the theme of the fading Middle America so present in the new live DVD. I thought of dingy neon signs outside of mid-population venues/bars/dives, like Otto's in Dekalb. Sigh...
